Have you ever experienced being confronted by a group of people, interrogating you and felt uneasy? In such, you were expected to give them answers based on their own perspectives, and not yours? There was a time when I was asked to speak to a group of people privately regarding an issue with an individual to discuss a complaint. This happened at my workplace.
I had a different point of view in which that group of people was not agreeing to my decision. I tried to provide a rational decision and was firm about it, however, they were disagreeing and I felt too pressured to do something that contradicted to what I believed in. And in addition to that, I had explained to them firmly about the solutions that I came up with. Imagine that you were surrounded by people, and you were stuck in the middle feeling against all odds?
And then suddenly, I remembered about this verse from the Scripture that no matter what circumstance or ordeal that you were facing, you would be able to overcome it with confidence and assurance, knowing that God is on our side. So, “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). I did not feel intimidated anymore. This verse was so powerful. Why would I be afraid to stand for what I believed in and feel upside down, just because the other side was trying to grill me uncontrollably? So, when thinking about this verse…if God is for ME, who can be against ME…right? I felt the strong urge to speak up, of course in a professional way as I was dealing with people from the workplace. I knew I gave them a reasonable answer. To their disbelief, they looked discontented, but my decision was firm.
So, after the incident, I had given myself some time reflecting about it and decided to pray. I had asked God to give me wisdom and guidance to come up with a final resolution. After few minutes, as I was trying to start making a written report about the issue, I brainstormed some ideas, created effective solutions, and started to put it out on a report. I made contacts with people to negotiate an agreement with them, and it worked. When I presented my final written report to this group of people, they accepted my proposals and plan. They were even grateful about it. So in the end, it worked out eventually. See, there was nothing to worry about…God’s grace was sufficient enough for me to be able to solve the problem. There was a certainty with Him, for sure. So whenever you are facing a challenging situation in any areas of your life, do not forget that God is working on our behalf, He is for us. No one can turn you down, if you just believe.
